Pool Table Beginnings

The idea of a rec room is to have a place to go and relax, play a little and even exercise. But making that idea happen isn't always easy.
Our favorite piece of furniture in the house was our pool table. The table itself took up our whole family room in the basement. Which is about 17x14. But an 8' table is a must have if you have the room for it.
Eight years ago we went full time home building. This occupation is both very enjoyable and very stress full. Many days we found ourselves in the basement playing pool trying to make tough decisions. Sounds weird but it really helped. Other times we'd start playing  and then after 8 hours or so we'd realize we hadn't eaten  and it was dark already. It was like a different dimension you could loose yourself in.
A good table is a must. A lot of people will by an inexpensive table at Sears or  Walmart off ebay or craigslist not really knowing what to look for and end up with a cheap table.  In this blog I'm going to give you things to look for  in a table.

We had an advantage, my father in law had dabbled in Billiards sales. Not only did he give us advice but hooked us up with his suppliers. We went to the Billiards Convention in Kansas City and Las Vegas and was able to pick up lots of good stuff along the way and lots of contacts.
